Panels for the Burien Arts Vision 2020 Fundraiser

As I've gotten older, battled cancer, lost my sister to depression, and watch as the world finds its way through a pandemic, COMMUNITY is becoming more important than ever for me. So I was thrilled when I was selected to participate in the Vision 2020 fundraiser for Burien Arts

Below are a few images of me working on my abstract collage panels. The series is entitled LAYERS & LIES. It's my way of exploring all the layers of lies we tell ourselves as we sugarcoat or cover things up. At times we may do it without even realizing. At other times we may be fully aware of what we're doing, thought perhaps we don't know why.

For me, I'm becoming hyper aware of this as so many people continue to destroy their families, friendships & communities over corrupt politicians on both "sides". Politicians who literally wouldn't piss on a single one of us if we were on fire.

I'm not immune, but I am trying to acknowledge so that I might have a fighting chance to do better.

Cheers,
~Tracie
